We have provided legal services in the form court representation and successfully completed 111 court cases and provided legal assistance to 11 beneficiaries of Minorities.

Minority as defined in Encyclopedia Britannica; “A culturally, ethnically or racially distinct group that co-exists with but is subordinate to a more dominant group. As such, minority status does not necessarily correlate to population. In some cases one or more so-called minority groups may have a population many times the size of the dominating group”.

Pakistan’s minorities can essentially be categorized as ‘ethnic and linguistic’ and ‘religious’. The term ‘minority’ is used in the 1973 Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on several occasions, there is however no definition of this term. Successive federal governments have taken the position that minorities within Pakistan are necessarily religious, and that there are no ethnic, racial or linguistic minorities or indigenous people. The most recent national census, completed in 1998, also restricts its data to religious minorities. According to the 1998 national census, 96.28 percent of the population follows the Islamic faith. Non-Muslims constitute 3.72 percent of the total population. Christians, Hindus, Ahmadis, scheduled castes and others (including Sikhs and Parsis) are officially and constitutionally recognized as religious minorities.
